You can divide the different formulas that are available for travelling by train in Belgium into four main categories :

• The single tickets are the most simple formula if you travel occasionally : tickets allow single or outward and return journeys between two Belgian stations.
• The train cards and season tickets are tailored for the commuters and people who travel frequently on the same line or within a specific zone.
• The 'pass' formulas are promotional tickets for specific journeys or passengers. They allow to travel for a fixed price (alone or with other people), which is very attractive for long distance journeys.
• The tourist formulas are tailored to one-day or weekends trips.

Getting into a train means that you own a valid ticket, and that you're aware of the terms of sale applying to passengers and luggage transportation. Under some conditions, it is possible to benefit of discounts or of tariffs for groups.
